PwC Europe Bank Restructuring Conference Vienna 2017

On October 20th 2017, PwC Financial Services invited the main players in the financial industry to the 6th annual Bank Restructuring conference. This year Western European markets like Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany have joined the stage with CEE region representatives. With close to 30 speakers and ca. 200 participants from about 80 banking and investor groups, it was the largest NPL event focused on the CEE region to date- covering also Russia, Ukraine and Turkey.

Turkish NPL Purchasing Market

Since the enactment of the communique governing the foundation and operations of NPL servicing platforms (so-called Asset Management Companies, “AMCs”) in Turkey in November 2006, financial institutions, despite being volatile, have consistently sold non-performing loans (NPL). The NPL purchasing market has experienced considerable growth over the years with the increase in number of banks selling portfolios, entrance of new AMCs to the market, as well as banks selling larger portfolios.
